2018 Storm Season in Retrospect: Embracing Change, Expanding Services
Slammed by almost simultaneous hurricanes in North Carolina and Florida, the 2018 Atlantic Storm season kept us busy, managing claims and expanding our services. BSA Claims Service, the largest Florida-based claims administration and adjusting service firm, spent the downtime between storms and the off-season reviewing and improving our processes, expanding our Litigation Services and Fast Track Centers, and diving into Flood Claims Services.
I can’t say enough about our team-our adjusters are among the best–experienced, well-trained, and customer service specialists. That’s why we invest in our people, the backbone of our success.
Jacksonville Operations expand
We increased our Jacksonville presence by an additional 8500 sq. feet of operation space. BSA Claims Service has embraced Fast Track claims processing, the future of claims management in many situations. We have a team of about 80 claims adjusters, litigation specialists, and administrative staff at our Jacksonville office, with hiring currently underway for an addition 35 positions.
Our Jacksonville operations provide a professional product to policyholders and carriers, with resolution of a large number of claims quickly. Our innovative Fast Track service allows policyholders to share in the resolution of their claim, resulting in better customer service and satisfaction. Litigation Services housed at Jacksonville are also seeing an uptick, thanks to our successful litigation team. We are expanding Litigation Services to meet carrier needs.
Scalable CAT Model honed
Our Fast Track and Litigation Service expansions complement our large roster of CAT and residential and commercial field adjusters. We honed our scalable, flexible CAT model that gets adjusters into affected areas and establishes quick solutions preceding and immediately following landfall.
Flood Claims Adjusting Program revamped
BSA Claims Service leadership is paying more attention to the risk of more “wet” hurricanes and the magnitude of rainfall and flooding that can result. During Florence, a lot of folks didn’t seem to understand the enormity of the rainfall threat. BSA Claims Service has revamped and expanded its Flood Claims Adjusting Program, working with the NFIP and advocating on Capitol Hill for improved flood insurance legislation and reform. With qualified, experienced flood adjusters and specialists on our roster, we are ready to be deployed by state, national and private flood insurance carriers. We understand flood policies, produce quality files quickly, and excel in communication and customer service.
Industry investments, advocacy improve relationships
Our annual industry investments through sponsoring national conferences, trainings and our own lobbying and advocacy efforts on behalf of the national adjusting community, has informed our decision to increase our services over the past four years. BSA Claims, well-regarded among policymakers, colleagues and associations, enjoys beneficial relationships across the industry.
Claims Litigation achieves rigorous SSAE 18 / SOC 1 examination
I am very proud to report BSA Claims Service recently completed its 2018 Service Organization Controls (SSAE 18 / SOC 1) examination after a rigorous, independent audit of our Claims Litigation services. This achievement, which BSA Claims Service has attained since 2013, confirms that we are one of the top-rated claims adjusting and administration firms for good reason. Our financial side of the house continues to safeguard and protect our financial assets and our clients, aligning with the high quality of our adjusting and claims administration services.

BSA Claims Service fights for the industry
In addition to engaging in corporate responsibilities by sponsoring major insurance conferences, BSA Claims Service advocates for the industry.
